animals we love from our farm to your table

The best lamb raised with love From our family farm in Central Oregon. We are four generations of animal lovers working to bring you the absolute best lamb we possibly can. Our sheep are raised with love and laughter and every one of them has a name and a face.

About Us

Skyewood Farm began as a dream over 20 years ago as our family started leasing and then bought Skyewood Farm in the beautiful Umpqua Valley.

The sheep have the run of almost the entire farm which is divided into ten pastures where we can move the sheep to allow the grass to replenish. Our lamb is grass fed. We supplement them in late Autumn and Winter with clean grass hay and the very occasional organic grain feed, while we wait for the new grass to start to grow in Spring.

We live in harmony with the wild life as deer and elk pass through the farm on their way through. We have a cougar that comes through the lower paddock and coyotes that pass through but our geese serve as our alarm and we have not had to hurt any of these beautiful animals and so far haven't lost a sheep to them.

Our water comes from the Umpqua and flows back to the Umpqua without any fertilizers or inorganic wastes.

We are committed to making as little impact on the land as we possibly can and that means that your lamb is clean and loved and low impact too.

... like it was before, when we lived with nature, in nature.

“When you're cooking with food as alive as this -- these gorgeous and semigorgeous fruits and leaves and flesh -- you're in no danger of mistaking it for a commodity, or a fuel, or a collection of chemical nutrients. No, in the eye of the cook or the gardener ... this food reveals itself for what it is: no mere thing but a web of relationships among a great many living beings, some of them human, some not, but each of them dependent on each other, and all of them ultimately rooted in soil and nourished by sunlight.”
- Michael Pollan, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto
